Paul Graham – Simple, Informal, Crude and Fast
Paul Graham has nailed one cornerstone of the kind of approach I believe works not just for Web 2.0 startups but for many kinds of projects in a variety of fields, even with huge organizations.
“I like to find (a) simple solutions (b) to overlooked problems (c) that actually need to be solved, and (d) deliver them as informally as possible, (e) starting with a very crude version 1, then (f) iterating rapidly.”
Sure, this sort of approach works with a lot less hassle when you work only with small groups of independent entrepreneurs. But just because large, complex organizations typically don’t get this stuff doesn’t mean that they can afford not to learn it. We fight the long fight.
